Popeye the Sailor Man is a fictional cartoon character. Created by Elzie Crisler Segar in the 1930s. He has appeared in comics and cartoons for theater and television. It first appeared in the King Features comic strip Thimble Theater on January 17, 1929. Popeye became the title of the strip in the following years. When Popeye made her debut she quickly became the main focus of the strip.
