Rusted metal is one of those natural phenomena that is terribly destructive, yet eerily beautiful at the same time. When iron ore oxidizes it creates brilliant colours, patterns and textures in a surface that we normally expect to be smooth and flat. This contrast is what makes the substance so appealing to artists and photographers. In this tutorial you’ll learn how to use some real rust textures and 3D tools in Photoshop to create beautiful rusty ‘crumbly’ text.
